Summer Reading Kick Off Party – Parker Memorial Library

Bring your family and friends to the Parker Memorial Library for a Summer Reading Kick Off Party on Tuesday, May 23rd at 3:00 PM. Participants will get to enjoy games and other activities! This event is free and open to the public. Children and families are welcome to attend.

The Summer Reading Program is also supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries.

Touch-A-Truck – Champion Public Library

Join us at Champion Public Library on Saturday, May 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for our Touch-A-Truck event! This family-friendly event provides children of all ages the experience of viewing life-sized vehicles and the opportunity to interact with community leaders such as police officers, firemen, construction workers, and more. Vehicles featured at this event will be from the Ardmore Fire Department, Ardmore Police Department, and Southern Oklahoma Ambulance Service, OG&E, SORD, ONG, Warren Cat Equipment to name a few. The Carter County Health Department will also be at our event doing free sports physicals. This outdoor event is free and open to the public.

3D Printing Class – Johnston County Library

Ever wondered how 3D printing works? Want to see it in action? Come learn the basics of 3D printing at the Johnston County Library on Tuesday, May 16th at 3:00 PM. This program is for all ages. Guests who do attend can choose a 3D object to be printed and pick their item up at a later date.

Attracting Pollinators – Johnston County Library

The Johnston County Library presents “Attracting Pollinators” on Monday, May 15th at 6:30 PM. This program will be held at the Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge, 11766 South Refuge Road, Tishomingo, OK. Amanda Cox of the OSU Extension Service will cover a brief overview of the importance of pollinators, who they are, and what attracts them to the landscapes and gardens. Park Ranger Allison Newberg will also share information about the park and the different areas that have been curated for pollinators. This program is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome to attend.

Project STEM: Experiments in Mechanical Engineering – Atoka County Library

Are you curious about how wind tunnels, pneumatic shocks, and hydraulic lifts work? Join Atoka County Library for Project STEM, a program designed to provide a space for young patrons to explore the principles of mechanical engineering and physics through hands-on experiments. This program will be held at the Atoka County Library on Monday, May 15th at 4:00 PM. Children will be able to build, design, and test their own devices and gadgets in the Physics Pro STEM Experiment kits. Along with the experiments, participants will be encouraged to think critically and develop problem-solving skills. Children ages 10 and up are welcome to attend. Class size is limited, and reservations are encouraged. All supplies will be provided by the library.
